Ofelia Cajudo Montevirgen, 68, of Middletown died Monday, July 27, 2015 at home in Middletown, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the wife of James Mon Montevirgen for 41 years.Born on June 21, 1947 in Olongapo City Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Roturas Cajudo and the late Rosalina Presto Cajudo. Mrs. Montevirgen graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1970, with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. She worked as a social worker for the Pearl S. Buck Foundation, and was also a guidance counselor at Olongapo City High School. James and Ofelia traveled all over the US, James being in the Navy, they were stationed in California, Ohio, North Carolina, Rhode Island and the Philippines. In 1992, they retired from the Navy and moved to the Philippines, and from there they moved to California, and eventually settled in Middletown. Throughout her times living in Middletown, she developed a Children's Outreach ministry in Tonomy Hill in Newport, which she was very dedicated to, for 10 years. James and Ofelia attended the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Pensacola, Fl. In 1996, she retired from being a CNA to take care of her loving husband Jim. She was a very spiritual woman, whose goal in life was to win souls for Jesus. She was a very loving and caring mother, wife and grandmother. She touched so many lives sharing her life testimonies of Jesus Christ her Lord. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children Lovelle Montevirgen DaSilva and her husband Fernando of Tiverton, RI and Joshua Montevirgen and his wife Kristen of Middletown, RI, her siblings: Luzviminda C. Orillaza, Edralino P. Cajudo, and Nathaniel P. Cajudo, and her grandchildren, Isaiah Joshua Montevirgen, Ezekiel James Montevirgen, Emily Montevirgen DaSilva and Isabella Montevirgen DaSilva.She is preceded in death by her brother Joel P. CajudoCalling hours will be held on Sunday August 2, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Her funeral service will be held on Monday August 3, 2015 at 10:30 am in Cross Point Church, 14 Rhode Island Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
