Patricia A. Botelho

Patricia Ann (Sulivan) Botelho, 77, of Portsmouth passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.She was the wife of the late James "Jimmy" P. Botelho for 57 years.Born in Newport, a lifelong resident of Aquidneck Island, Pat was the daughter of the late Edmund E. Sullivan and Madeline Barbara (Pedro) Cooper.Pat leaves an indelible mark on the lives she touched and those she met throughout her life. Pat worked side by side with her husband after opening fondly-remembered Colonial Ice Cream Parlor, until 1985. After their retirement, Pat became a volunteer at Newport Hospital for many years, receiving Volunteer of the year award, it was there that she met one of her most treasured friends, Mrs. Earp, they work together side by side, never just one of them, but always together. She also served her church, Saint Barnabas, as a communicant and enjoyed time spent with her extended family from church, especially Friday night get-togethers in the summer.Pat treasured her friends and family, and despite her vision problems, was always ready, willing and able to go anywhere.She is survived by her loving children, James D. Botelho and his partner Robert Stone, Patricia Lynn Botelho Tod and her husband Bret, Judith Ann Costa and her husband, Frank. She was loved and adored by her grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Ferreira, Justin Wells, Adam Wasilewski, Alex Wasilewski, and Tyler Allott; and her great-grandchildren, Kyle Oliviera, Jacob Oliviera, Mia Oliveria , Leah Ferreira and Jazzlyn Wells.Patricia is also survived by her sisters and best friends, Joan M. Angel and Pamela Ann Cooper Dugan. She was preceded in death by her brothers Edmund E Sullivan Jr. and William E. Sullivan.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 28 from 4:00-8:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 9:00am from Connors Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, East Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Browns Lane, Middletown.Donations in Pat's memory can be made to the James L.
