Middletown, RI, Patricia A. (Murphy) Lawrence, 78, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at John Clarke Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late William G. Lawrence to whom she was married for 53 years.Born on July 24, 1936, in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Lillian (Coppinger) Murphy.Patricia retired to Jupiter Florida to be with her family for 11 years before returning to Newport, the area she loved most. She loved to craft apparel accessories and had a passion for colorful outfits she wore proudly where she went.She is survived by her daughter Linda King, and her husband Robert of Alpharetta, GA, her son Timothy Lawrence and his wife Beth of Jupiter, FL, as well as two loved grandchildren, Timothy King and Kristen King of Alpharetta, GA and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, from 5-7pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 11am following calling hours from 10-11am , in the funeral home.Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Browns Lane, Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be amde to The Preservation Society of Newport County, 424 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
