Patricia Ann Cahill

Patricia Ann Cahill, 69, of Hopkington, RI passed away in the comfort of her family and friends Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Westerly Hospital of Westerly, RI. Born on July 16, 1946 in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph James and Evelyn (Wells) Cahill.Patricia was a 1963 graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in Boston, MA. She was involved in several groups and activities including Parents Without Partners, N.O.W., Women for Children's rights. Patricia also volunteered as a docent at Roger Williams Zoo. She was a longtime resident of Boston, MA, Newport ,RI and South County, RI. Patricia was known for her wealth of knowledge of many subjects. She was a great reference of intelligent to all. Patricia was also known for her strong opinions. She was an avid reader and loved crafts of all kinds.She is survived by her children, Edward Gilletly of Newport, RI, Brian Gilletly of Hope Valley, RI, Daniel Gilletly of Mystic, CT and Joslynn Park of Richmond, RI, her brother William Cahill and his wife Molly of Everett, MA, Margaret Hunter and her husband Jack of Coos Bay, OR and Eleanor Boober of Newport, RI, and her grandchildren, Edward M. Bacarri, Maeve Gilletly, Isaac Gilletly, Zebulon Park, Juniper Park and Fern Park.She was the sister of the late Joseph Cahill, Jr., Edward Cahill and Patricia Ann Cahill.Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 12-4pm in the Memorial Fuenral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a service at 4pm.Burial will be privateIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Women's Resource Center, 114 Touro Street, Newport, RI 02840.
