Patricia 'Trish' Liuzzi

Patricia Ann Trish Liuzzi, 62, of Windstone Drive in Portsmouth, RI passed away peacefully Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Newport Hospital with family and close friends at her side. She was the treasured wife of Donato Dan Liuzzi, and wonderful mother of three daughters: Christina, Regina, and Maggie married to Capt Jared Demello, USA with two beautiful sons - grandchildren - Beckett and Kelley. Born in Boston on September 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William J. Joe Bennett and Patricia M. Pat Mullin Bennett, and grew up in South Yarmouth, MA. She is survived by her sister Ellen and her husband, Patrick OConnell who continue to reside in S. Yarmouth.Trish was special to everyone she touched: as a loving bride, a devoted wife for 42 years, and a dedicated Navy spouse for 30 of those years; as a truly terrific mom for the three girls from recitals, plays, softball and basketball, through loves gained and lost, and graduations and new careers; and, especially as a dedicated registered nurse for over 40 years, caring for countless others during a very rich and rewarding career. Her passion was as a hospice nurse which she did for the last 25 years, with the 10 most recent years associated with Visiting Nurse Services where she reached out with love, compassion and care to so many in the local communities. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011 between 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
