Patty June Freehan

Patricia June Patty Freehan, 51, of Mulberry Road, Bristol, RI passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at home surrounded by her family and those who loved her.Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 2, 1957, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary A. Murtha Freehan. Patty attended the Maher Center for many years, enjoying the workshop and her many friends there. She participated in Special Olympics at Salve Regina University and the University of Rhode Island and won many medals in swimming, track field and the softball throw. Patty loved to dance and laugh and brought joy to all who knew her. We will miss her bright eyes and smile. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Lilley and her husband, James, of Portsmouth, RI; two nephews, Christopher Lilley of Simsbury, CT and Bryan Lilley of Windsor, CT; and her Mulberry Road housemates, Lori, Caroline and Anna. Her funeral will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at 9 am from Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Looking Upwards, The Maher Center or Beacon Hospice.
