Paul Pap Pap F. Buddemeyer, 78, of 12 Surrey Drive, Plymouth, MA, formerly of 73 Potomac Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Jordan Hospital, Plymouth, MA.He was the husband of Barbara Kathleen Brogan Buddemeyer. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Albert Daniel and Margaret Brungess Buddemeyer.Mr. Buddemeyer served in the United States Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. While stationed in Newport, he worked as an X-ray tech at the Aquidneck Medical Center. After retiring from the United States Navy in 1966, he joined the staff at the Newport Hospital in the ER then in the OR until 1995 when he retired. He was awarded the Dorney Award by Newport Hospital. Mr. Buddemeyer was a member of St. Anthonys Church and the Fleet Reserve Association. He enjoyed landscaping and gardening and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Patriots. Mr. Buddemeyer was a Little League coach and a Pop Warner coach in Portsmouth and won the Portsmouth Little League Championship in 1970. He loved his kids and went to all of their events.Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Paul Earl Buddemeyer of Clarksville, TN, Albert Daniel Buddemeyer of New Smyrna Beach, FL, David Allan Buddemeyer of Jupiter, FL, Kevin Michael Buddemeyer of Bristol, RI, Michael Allan Buddemeyer of Portsmouth, RI and Michelle Marie Finan of Tiverton, RI, his brother Dale Melville Buddemeyer of Pittsburgh, PA, his sisters Dolores Jean Mutschler of Pittsburgh, PA and Florence Loretta Brooks and Donna Grace Twoguns both of Arizona, seven grandchildren, Stephanie Lee Buddemeyer of Portsmouth, RI, Zack Michael Buddemeyer of Jupiter, FL, Kristine Anne Buddemeyer of Bristol, RI, Shane Michael Buddemeyer and Megan Rose Buddemeyer of Portsmouth, RI, SheonaMarie Finan and Christopher Allan Finan both of Tiverton, RI and two great grandchildren, Brooke Marie Finan and Daniel Allan Finan. His funeral will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private.
