Paul Richard Darby

Newport, RI - Paul Richard Darby, 55, of 447 Broadway Newport, passed on Monday, February 21, 2005 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, Rhode Island. Born in Burlington, Vermont on April 14, 1949, he was the son of Paul L. and Beverly G. Fifield Darby of Middletown, RI. Mr. Darby was a 1967 graduate of Middletown High School, where he played in the band. He also attended Miami Dade Junior College in Miami, FL. Mr. Darby had worked at the Newport County Community Mental Health Center. He had played in the Newport Concert Band and he was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Middletown. Mr. Darby enjoyed all sports and played varsity tennis and bowling at Middletown High School. He will be rememberd for his kindness and gentleness. Besides his parents he is survived by his long time companion of 25 years Marge Loring of Newport, RI, his brother Thomas A. Darby of Middletown, RI, his sister Sandra L. Sumrow of Charlotte, NC, and several nieces nephews.His funeral will take place on Thursday February 24, 2005 at 11:00 am in Calvary United Methodist Church, 200 Turner Road, Middletown.Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
