NEWPORT, RI ? Pauline H. Byrnes White, 87, of 131 Ruggles Avenue, Newport, RI died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Richard Henry White. Born in Malden, MA on November 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Evelyn Haskell Byrnes. Mrs. White had been a Navy wife and had been married to her late husband for 58 years. She had worked for the Malden Cooperative Bank for many years. Mrs. White enjoyed gardening, music, playing the piano and sports. She loved the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. Mrs. White was a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader and also active in the PTA. She also volunteered for the Rhode Island Special Olympics. She is survived by her daughters Pamela G. Hightower and Judith S. Brennan both of Middletown, RI, and her grandsons F. Alexander Hightower of Reid, Austria, and Raleigh A. Brennan of Middletown, RI.A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 10:30AM, in St. Columba Berkeley Memorial Chapel, 55 Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown. Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on July 5, 2005, from 4-7pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home.
