New Britain, CT - Pauline J. Conrad Dorian, 93, of 48 Roslyn Drive, New Britain, CT, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Edward N. Dorian, MD. Born in New Germany, Nova Scotia on October 27, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Alden and Ida Bradstreet Conrad.Mrs. Dorian received her nursing degree from the former Connecticut Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in New Britain for 65 years, a member of the New Britain Museum of American Art and a member of the New Britain Womens Club. Mrs. Dorian was a former member of the Art League of New Britain and the New Britain General Hospital Auxillary. She was also a volunteer nurse for the American Red Cross. Pauline was an accomplished artist working in oil and water colors. She is survived by her daughters Carol Jean Dorian Calvert of Newport, RI, and Joyce D. Richter of New York, NY, her grandchildren Matthew George Richter of North Providence, RI, Timothy William Richter of New Jersey, and Ann Morrison Calvert of Newport, RI, her cousins Ruth G. MacKinnon and Gertrude Grimm of Nova Scotia, two nieces Nancy Dorian and Minerva Kubler and three nephews Theodore Dorian, David Dorian and Peter Dorian. She was the mother of the late George E. Dorian and the sister of the late Robert H. Conrad. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 2:00 pm in Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Newport. Burial will be private.
