Perry A. Roberts

Dr. Perry A. Roberts Portsmouth, RI ? Dr. Perry A. Roberts, 88, of Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI, passed peacefully, Monday, May 15, 2006, at the RI Veterans Home, Bristol, RI. He leaves his beloved wife of 46 years, Virginia ?Ginna? Roberts. Born in Custard County, NE, on March 29, 1918, he was the son of the late William A. and Ruth Sorter Roberts.Dr. Roberts was a graduate of Southern College of Optometry. After working for the McLeod Optical in Providence, RI., he opened his own practice on Hope Street in Bristol, RI. Dr. Roberts enjoyed boating, fishing and all forms of outdoor activities, however, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He leaves behind the family he cherished, his wife Ginna and five children. His three sons Peter A. Roberts of Wakefield, RI, Scott A. Crawford of Houston, TX, and Bruce M. Crawford of North Palm Beach, FL, two daughters Susan E. Edwards of West Palm Beach, FL and Robyn R. Riley of Boxford, MA. A sister Alice White of Sidney, NE, nine grandchildren Aimee Roberts and Matthew Roberts both of Wakefield, RI, Hallie Miller of Atlanta, GA, Megan Crawford of Washington, DC, Becky Jarzabkowski of Green Acres, FL, Heidi Edelman of Boynton Beach, FL, Barry DuFault of Tampa, FL, and Allison Riley and Megan Rose Riley both of Boxford, MA, and three greatgrandchildren Alec Jarzabkowski and Jeffrey Jarzabkowski both of Green Acres, FL, and Jacob Edelman of Boynton Beach, FL. A private ceremony will be preformed by the family at Perry?s residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Calvery United Methodist Church, 200 Turner Road, Middletown, RI, 02842.
