Little Compton, RI - Peter D. Washburn, 58, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 after a spirited battle with pancreatic cancer. Peter was the husband of Susan Bedard Washburn for 29 years, the son of Elizabeth Thompson and the late Edwin Washburn and the step-son of Carlene Washburn. Peter touched many lives though his active involvement in community organizations including the Little Compton Community Center, the RI Mentoring Partnership, and the Newport Kiwanis Club. He dedicated the last years of his life raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research while always choosing hope. Peter was truly an inspiration for living life to the fullest and he will be dearly missed by many friends. Peter is also survived by siblings Bruce Washburn of E. Boothbay, ME, Barbara Infantolino of Jamestown, RI, Joan DeWitt of Colorado Springs, CO, Debra Link of Stockton, CA, Gregg Kritzler of Chelmsford, MA, and Alison Brennan of Robbinston, ME. He was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews and held a special place in his heart for Chris, Courtney and Christopher ORielly.
