Philip Grauer

Philip Grauer, 55, of Broadway, Newport, RI, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at home.Born in Newport, RI on November 19, 1959, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Moran) Grauer.Philip was a journeyman electrician. He was a 1978 graduate of Rogers High School where he was an All-State football player and a member of the track team. Philip attended Slippery Rock State University in Pennsylvania and loved cooking.He is survived by his brothers and sisters, William Grauer, Jr. and his companion, Linda Junge, of Long Island, NY, James Grauer of Newport, RI, Rosemary Grauer of Newport, RI, and Jean Anderson and her husband, Brad, of Charlestown, MA; five nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and a great-nephew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Grauer and his sister, Patricia Chase.A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
