Philip W. Boisseau

Philip W. Boisseau, GMC U.S.N. Retired Master Diver, 82, of Middletown, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center. He was the husband of Rita E. Brown Boisseau of Middletown and the late Julia M. (Borecki) Boisseau.Born in North Hampton, MA, he was the son of the late Louis Napoleon and Esther (Madden) Boisseau.Mr. Boisseau began his Naval Career when he was 17 and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Upon retiring, he worked as an engineer on tug boats and as a dredge-man and salvage diver in marine construction.Most recently, Phil retired as an AB Seaman from the Cross Sound Ferry in New London, CT. He was a member of the DAV Lawson/Raiala Chapter 15; the American Legion, Ware, MA Chapter #0123; and the Newport Elks Lodge 104. Phil was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling with Rita.Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Beth Anne Toto and her husband Mark, Phillip Boisseau and his wife Patty, Stephen Boisseau and his wife Joan, Victoria Jachimczyk and her husband Lou and Lincoln Boisseau and his wife Kathy.Phil was the step-father of Michael Brown Jr. and his wife Diane, Eric Brown and his wife Beth and Rosemary Brown Van Haasteren.He was the grandfather of Christopher Leslie, Stephen Boisseau, Julia Boisseau and Danielle Boisseau as well as step-grandfather of Kayla Van Haasteren, Nicholas Brown, Kathleen Brown, Jack Michael Garforth and Callie Brown.He was the brother of the late Henry Richardson, Joseph L. Boisseau and Robert E.
