Portsmouth, RI - Phyllis L. Correia, 83, of Portsmouth, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at Newport Hospital surrounded by her family.Beloved wife of the late Everett P. Correia.Born in Portsmouth, RI on July 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Vincent L Coggeshall and Laura A (Marshall) Coggeshall.Phyllis was an active member of the Portsmouth Senior Center, where she enjoyed line dancing, Tai Chi, Yoga, and her many friends she had there. She was past secretary of the former Portsmouth Democratic Women's Club and also a past president of the former Lioness Club. For many years was a volunteer at St. Anthony's Feast. Phyllis enjoyed traveling but most of all Sunday afternoon's with the many generations of her family. She is survived by her children, Nancy L. Souza, Mary L. Correia, Beverly A. Gorton, Everett P. Correia Jr., Karen J. Gleason, Laura Correia Rogers, Mark Correia and Kristen L. Correia, all of Portsmouth, RI. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her siblings: the late Herbert Coggeshall of Connecticut, Vincent Coggeshall of Portsmouth, and Priscilla (Coggeshall) Holley of Texas.Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 4-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Her funeral will be held on Friday June 13, 2014, at 9am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
