Portsmouth, RI - Prescott E. Sisson, 88, of 4 Debra Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Rita H. Doucet Sisson. Born in Middletown, RI on March 24, 1919, he was the son of the late Ernest and Jennie Grinnell Sisson.Mr. Sisson served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was a milkman for Aquidneck Island Dairy and also worked at the former Newport Shipyard as a yacht painter and machinist. Mr. Sisson was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church, a member of the American Legion, and the Portsmouth Senior Citizens Center. He was a former member of the Portsmouth Grange and a former little league manager in Portsmouth. Mr. Sisson was an avid gardener and billiards player. Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his children, Roger P. Sisson of Pawtucket, RI, Nancy R. Winning of Tiverton, RI, Paul M. Sisson of Middletown, RI, Ann M. Lecuivre of Portsmouth, RI and David J. Sisson of Portsmouth, RI, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.He was the father of the late Donald H. Sisson, who was Killed in Action in Vietnam and the brother of the late Everett Sisson, James Sisson and Vincent Sisson. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 4-8 in the Connors Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
