Priscilla (Day) Garrison

Priscilla (Day) Garrison, from Bristol, RI, passed away in the comfort of hospice care on Monday, December 15, 2014. She was surrounded by multiple generations of her immediate family and close friends. A native Rhode Islander, she was born in Cranston on October 29, 1929. She graduated from Cranston High School and Colby College in Waterville, Maine. As a young woman she was an avid sailing and snow skiing enthusiast. She also taught school prior to having a family. Most recently she was a resident of Franklin Court Assisted Living facility in Bristol.Priscilla was a life-long summer resident of Bristol Colony, Prudence Island and a well-loved member of the community. She was a member of the Union Church, hosted a neighborhood Vacation Bible School, and took much joy in gardening, participating in Bible studies, Reading current events. She also enjoyed travelling and considered her trip to Israel as a highlight of her life. She was the daughter of Earle and Mildred Day and is survived by her brother, Bill Day (Venice, FL), four children, David (Indianapolis, IN), Rick (Portsmouth), Debbie Fertitta (Bristol) and Susan Beck (Bristol), their spouses, eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Calling hours and funeral service will be held at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Calling hours from noon until 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Prudence Island Conservancy, 113 Pleasant Ave., Prudence Island, RI 02872.
