Ralph Nassa

Ralph Nassa, 90, of Newport, passed away suddenly at home on October 1, 2016. He spent the last 17 years happily married to Jeanne (Hennessey) Nassa. He was born on May 14, 1926 in Providence, RI to the late Antonio Isabella Nassa. He was one of 11 children of whom he leaves one sister, Anna Drumm of Cranston. He leaves his three stepchildren: Karen Hennessey and her partner Kevin McGroarty, Kathi Hennessey and her husband Daryl Van Nuland and Susan and her husband Buck Frost. He also leaves five grandchildren: Alex Bouthillier, Samuel and James Van Nuland, Tatyana and Pashka Frost. He also leaves three children Ralph, Donna and Mary Ann Nassa. In addition he also leaves his godson, Robert Bernalewski and his wife Patricia. He had a large extended family with many nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews.He was a US Marine and served in the World War II, in the Pacific. He was owner/operator of Ralph Nassa and Son Flooring Company in Cranston until his retirement when he ran the Seaside Cottage Bed Breakfast in Newport with his wife Jeanne.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI 02842.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ralphs favorite charity St Judes Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice.
