Ralph Stewart Ricketson, Sr

TIVERTON, RI ? Ralph S. Ricketson, Sr., 88, of Tiverton, RI, died on October 25, 2011.Born in Taunton, MA he was the son of the late Ralph L. Ricketson and Janet Hunter Ricketson.Ralph grew up in Taunton, MA and enrolled in Northeastern University to study engineering. Ralph joined the Army Air Force and served during World War II in the South Pacific.Ralph returned to Northeastern to complete his Mechanical Engineering degree, and was elected a member of Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society. His first job was for GE, in Lynn, MA. This is where he began his family and his career. Soon, opportunities brought him to Syracuse, NY for several years in sales positions, and finally he spent the last 10 years of his career with Carrier Corporation.During his free time, Ralph enjoyed his time at the Onondaga Yacht Club in NY, where he served as a past commodore.He is survived by his wife, Emma Sears Ricketson, his children, Nan Hayden of Bristol, RI, Ralph S. Ricketson Jr. of Van Nuys, CA, Tom Ricketson of Ithaca, NY, and Matthew Ricketson of Medfield, MA. He also leaves a brother, Robert Ricketson of Vero Beach, FL, and nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
