Raymond Bender Slack Jr

Raymond B. Slack Jr., 74 of Woodbury, CT passed away Oct. 2, 2008 after a long illness. He had recently relocated to Tiverton, RI to be closer to his daughter. Born in Flint, MI, he was the son of Donna and Raymond B. Slack, Sr. A graduate of General Motors Institute and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a M.S in Metallurgical Engineering, he retired from United Technologies in CT after 33 years and went to work for CONNSTEP, Inc. as a Manufacturing Materials Specialist until 2007. He held several U.S. Patents in the metals field. He is survived by a sister, Sharon Kyptik , his five children, Dr. Mark Slack of Reston, VA, Laurie McGowan of Portsmouth, RI, Curt Slack of Albuquerque, NM, Daren Slack of E. Windsor, CT and Keir Slack of Oldsmar, FL and four grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Tuesday Oct.7, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 12 PM at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd. Portsmouth, RI.
