Raymond Butch Post

Raymond Edward Butch Post, 69, of Broadway, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, RI. Born in New York, NY on Jan. 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert Louis and Louise Mary Rice Post.Butch grew up in Newport and worked as a fisherman as a young adult. He also worked all over town as a handyman. He may best be known for his boxing career. He boxed on both the amateur and local professional level for many years. He also loved to dance, and would never pass up a good song to dance to.He is survived by a brother William Post and his wife Dolores of Dardanelle, AR; and Butchs former wives Loretta Post, Lucille Post, and Helen Post. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews Mary Kellenberger, Donna Marie Snook, Cindy Budrow, Louise Smith, and Francis, Robert, Wayne, and James Greenman. He is preceded in death by his son Raymond Post, Jr. and a sister Violet Frenette.His funeral will be private.
