Raymond Norman Reigel

Raymond Norman Riegel Newport, RI - Raymond Norman Riegel, 82, of 19 Chapel Street, Newport, RI, died Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI, on February 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph and Maude Sisson Riegel.Mr. Riegel had worked for many years as a gardener at the Robert Young Estate. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving during WWII, in Okinawa, where he was wounded in action, and at the Guadalcanal. Mr. Riegel enjoyed building puzzles and collecting match book covers. He is survived by three brothers Robert A. Riegel and his wife Abbie of Newport, RI, Milton Riegel and his wife Barbara of Montebello, CA, and Herbert Riegel of Middletown, RI, a sister Catherine Nasser and her husband Jack of Portsmouth, RI, and a niece Judy Dallaire and her husband Roland of Westport, MA, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Charles Riegel, Harold Riegel, and William Riegel.A memorial service will be held in Donovan Manor, 19 Chapel Street, Newport, at a later date.
