MIDDLETOWN, RI - Raymond Perry, 83, of 216 Reservoir Avenue, Middletown, RI, died at home Wednesday, November 16, 2005. He was the husband of Mary C. Raposo Perry of Middletown and the late Anna Raposo Perry. Born in Middletown, RI on February 26, 1922 he was the son of the late Joseph and Emelia Dennis Perry. Mr. Perry worked as a salesman in the automotive department at Sears in Middletown for 20 years until 1979. He then worked as a landscaper for Joppa Maintenance on the Naval Base for 18 years retiring in 2000. Mr. Perry also worked at St. Georges School in Middletown as a landscaper for 3 years. He loved to dance and enjoyed tinkering with clocks. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Raymond L.Perry of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Elizabeth Perry of Tiverton, RI, his step-sons Joseph da Costa of Middletown, RI, and Miguel da Costa of West Kingston, RI, his brother George Perry of Middletown, RI, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers Lewis Perry, Joseph Perry, Manuel Perry, John Perry, and his sisters Margaret Silvia, Emily Parkhurst, Rose Roderick and Evelyn Perry.His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 9AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday November 18, 2005 from 4-8PM in the Memorial Funeral Home.
