Newport, RI - Raymond Walter Bailey, Sr., 62, of 19 Chapel Street, Newport, RI, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Derby, CT on November 22, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Laura Rose Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a residential case manager for Hidden Valley Ranch Rehabilitation Center, in San Diego County, for over 12 years. He also worked as a receptionist for Salvation Army on Memorial Boulevard for 2 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed singing, playing dominos but most of all he loved family gatherings and planning for them. He is survived by his children Raymond W. Bailey, Jr. of Newport, RI, James E. Bailey of Fall River, MA, Lisa M. Stedford of Newport, RI, Ramona L. Mureddu of Buffalo, NY, Christine Bailey of Newport, RI, and Damonica L. Rogers of Newport, RI, his brother Wyman Bailey of Maryland, his sisters Cynthia Bailey Kyle of California, Alberta Joyner of Georgia and Clara Paynter of Canada, thirty three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.He was the brother of the late James Bailey. His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 11:00 am in Salvation Army, 51 Memorial Boulevard, Newport. Burial will be private.Calling hours are omitted.
