Rebecca Bowden

Rebecca Reed Briggs Bowden, 53, of 82 East Main Road, Middletown, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston, MA. She was the wife of Ronald R. Bowden. Born in Fall River, MA, on March 8, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Frederick H. Briggs and the late Winifred R. DeCastro Briggs. Mrs. Bowden was the owner and operator of Beckys Barbeque on East Main Road in Middletown. Mrs. Bowden was a graduate of Bryant College, class of 1971. She is survived by a son Brian D. Bowden of Providence, RI, and a daughter Amy K. Wearden of Middletown, RI, two brothers Frederick D. Briggs and Richard H. Briggs both of Cincinnatus, NY and Portsmouth, RI, and a sister Janet W. Ball of Richmond, VA. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 25, at 10:00 AM in Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church, 11 Middle Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Portsmouth Friends Cemetery.
