Newport, RI - Regina Louise (Thompson) Calibani, 90, of Fowler Ave, Newport, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Village House Nursing Home Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Everett Calibani. Born in Presque Isle, Maine on November 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Lamont Thompson and Mary Ellen (Sweeney) Thompson.Mrs. Calibani was a dedicated Communicant of St. Josephs Church in Newport, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, volunteered for the Harvest Fair and in the soup kitchen. Regina was a dedicated wife and mother. She was married to Everett for 59 years, beginning in 1945 upon his return home from the war. She is survived by her son Hugh L. Calibani Newport, and a sister Helen Goodreau Westfield, MA, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Walter, Hugh and Ronald Thompson, her sisters Flora Carlson and Gertrude Goan.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 5-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, Her funeral will be held Friday, Mar. 22, at 9am from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport.
