Reginald Daniel Nalle Sr

Sgt. Reginald Daniel Nalle Sr., Ret. Newport Police Department 75, of 708 Havencrest Drive DeSoto, TX, formerly of Newport, Rhode Island, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at Lancaster Medical Center Lancaster, TX.He was the husband of Lillian Mary Moore Nalle of DeSoto. Born in Newport, RI on January 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Fred and Mabel Shaggerford Nalle.Mr. Nalle served in the United States Navy during World War II stationed in Hawaii. He joined the Newport Police Department in 1951, and became sargent in 1967 in 1976 he retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary?s Church and the Fraternal Order Police before moving to Texas in 1992. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Reginald Nalle Jr. of Newport, RI, three daughters Regina Preston of Chicago, IL, Doris Fields of DeSoto, TX, and Cheryl Nalle of Arlington, TX, seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.He was the father of the late Charlene Nalle and the brother of the late Fred Douglas Nalle, John Nalle and Will Nalle.His funeral will be held on Monday, June 17, 2002, at 11:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
