Rene A. Tougas, Sr

Portsmouth, RI - Rene Tougas, Sr. 96, of, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Mary Armour Tougas. Born in Central Falls, RI on Nov. 20, 1915, he was the son of the late Alfonse and Corrine Lucignon Tougas. Mr. Tougas worked as an engineer for Spidell/Textron for over twenty-five years. He is survived by his son Rene Bud Tougas Jr. and his daughter-in-law Filomena Tougas, of Portsmouth, RI, his grand children, Renee Souza, Lori Vallevona and Robert Vallevona. He is also survived by his great grand children, Jessica Souza, Jonathan Souza and Maya Vallevona. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2012, from 3-7pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI His funeral will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2012, at 9am from Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St Anthonys Church 2836 East Main Rd Portsmouth, RI Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, 359 Dagget Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
