Rhoda Blunte BrewsterNEWPORT, RI ? Rhoda Blunte Brewster, 84, of 51 Park Holm, Newport, RI, formerly of North Carolina, died Thursday, September 15, 2005, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Johnson Brewster. Born in St. Johns, Trinidad, West Indies, on April 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanora Harewood Blunte. Mrs. Brewster had worked as a nurses aide at the Bellevue Nursing Home, now Heatherwood Health Care Center, Newport, for 4 years. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in San Fernando, Trinidad, and St. Johns the Evangelist Church in Newport. She was an avid bible reader and enjoyed cooking. She is survived by seven sons Winston and his wife Carmen Brewster of Apex, NC, Raphael and his wife Joycelyn Brewster of Trinidad, Edwin Brewster of Newport, RI, Austin and his wife Evelyn Brewster of Stone Mountain, GA, Michael and his wife Lucia Brewster of Belize, Joseph Patrick and his wife Ann Brewster of Trinidad, and Everton and his wife Jayne Brewster of Bradenton, FL, a step son Lester and his wife Pamela Brewster of Miami, FL, five daughters Lucille and her husband Evanbirth Brewster-Atherley of London, England, Evelyn Brewster of Newport, RI, Josephine Patricia and her husband Joseph Burroughs of Cary, NC, Beverly and her husband Wayne Brewster-Butler Bradenton, FL, and Jennifer Brewster-Peters Cary, NC, a step daughter Wendy Brewster-Alleyne Stone Mountain, GA, two sisters Inez Joseph of Jamaica Queens, NY, and Lycina Blunte-Cooper Trinidad, fifty two grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren, thirty seven great great grandchildren, and eight great great great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Cecil Blunte, Edgar Blunte, Harold ?Boysie? Blunte, Mildred Blunte, Beryl Blunte-Ford, Ivy Blunte-Pemberton, and Ruby Blunte. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at 11:00 AM, in St. John The Evangelist Church, 61 Poplar Street, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005, from 6-9PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
