Richard Alder Shovelton

Portsmouth, - Richard A. Shovelton, 71, of 29 Baker Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at home.He leaves his wife of 52 years Leonora June Nascimento Shovelton of Portsmouth. Born in Fall River, MA on October 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Emily Alder Shovelton. Mr. Shovelton served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a Mechanic with Northeast Utilities for 27 years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Shovelton loved boating his whole life and fast cars. He enjoyed building houses. He was the brother of the late Wilfred Shovelton. His funeral will be held on Monday, August 25, 2003, at 10:00 AM, in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
