Richard C. Chafton Sr

Portsmouth, RI - Richard C. ?Ricki? Chafton, Sr., 46, of 14 Second Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at home. Born in Newport, RI, on August 1, 1960, he was the son of Ethel M. Sargent Chafton of Portsmouth, RI, and the late Claywell Moss Chafton. Mr. Chafton attended Roger Williams University and inducted into the National Honor Society Phi Alpha Theta. He was a landscaper for many years throughout Aquidneck Island. Besides his mother he is survived by his sons Richard C. Chafton, Jr., and Lucas A. Chafton both of Norfolk, VA, his brother Claywell M. Chafton II and his wife Karen of Tiverton, RI, and three nephews Thomas and Joseph Gore and Claywell Chafton, III. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at 9:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Dialysis Center, 22 Hurst Lane, Tiverton, RI 02878.
