Newport, RI - Richard F. Dick Cosimini, 81, passed away peacefully in Newport, RI, on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Born in Pawtucket, RI on July 14, 1930, and resided in Portsmouth, RI for over 50 years and lived the remainder of his life in Newport, he was the son of the late Romeo and Zelinda Tomellini Cosimini. He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy, spent a year at Providence College, graduated from URI College of Pharmacy where he was a member of Kappa Psi fraternity and served in the US Army. He owned the Nadeaus Pharmacy in Portsmouth for over 40 years. He was a member of the Portsmouth and Newport historical and preservation societies. He helped start the Portsmouth Little League and served as a liaison for the Glen Manor House. He and his former wife restored the Soule-Seabury House museum at Tiverton Four Corners. He is survived by his daughters, Victoria Landry of Sebastian, FL, Laurie Humes of Portsmouth, RI, Donna Cory of Portsmouth, RI, Jane Jensen and her husband Peter of Costa Mesa, CA, Mia Finnegan and her husband Richard of South Kingstown, RI, his sons Richard F Cosimini Jr and his wife Heather of Portsmouth, RI, and David Cosimini of Somerset, MA. He also leaves his sister Janet Smith and her husband Howell of Pawtucket, RI, and his former wife Margaret, as well as twelve grand children, one great-grandchild, two nephews, two nieces, and many cousins. Calling hours will be held Wednesday November 16, 2011 from 4pm-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 W. Main Rd Portsmouth, RIA Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 17, 2011, at 10:00am, in St. Theresas Church 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RIBurial will be in Mount St. Marys Cemetery 661 Prospect Street Pawtucket, RI 02860. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to The Portsmouth Preservation Society 870 E. Main Rd Portsmouth, RI 02871.
