Richard F. Schlosky

Schlosky, Richard F. ?Rick?, 54, of Valhalla Drive, Portsmouth, RI, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at home unexpectedly. He was the loving son of Richard and Janet Schlosky. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Susie Rucando of Portsmouth, RI, his brother, Mark Schlosky of Hingham, MA, and his sister, Diana Grinnell of Portsmouth, RI. He was the proud uncle of Kelly and Emily Rucando, Stephanie and Timothy Schlosky and Morgan Reese Grinnell.Rick was a 1974 graduate of St. George?s School in Middletown, RI and a 1978 cum laude graduate of Harvard University. His work enabled him to travel extensively, leaving a wake of friends behind. He was most known for his love of family, friends and pets, Tippy, Madison and Marley. Rick excelled in baseball and soccer, was a lifelong sports enthusiast and was an avid Red Sox fan. He was employed by Residence Inn by Marriott in Middletown, RI where he shared his love of Aquidneck Island with fellow employees and guests.Rick?s funeral will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10 am in Portsmouth United Methodist Church, 2732 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, followed by committal services in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown, RI.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 4-8 pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
