Richard Joseph Carr

Portsmouth, RI - Richard Joseph Carr, 88, died Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Romana Romany C. LaTorre Carr.Born in Providence, RI on Jan. 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Earl Eugene and Marie ONeill Carr.Mr. Carr worked as a Meteorologist for the Weather Bureau in New York City for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Elks, and was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church.Besides his wife of 63 years, He is survived by his sister Ruth Gros of Middletown, RI, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
