Richard L. "Smiley" Gill

Richard L. "Smiley" Gill, 75, of Tiverton, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Jacqueline R. (McCauley) Gill. Born in Sheboygan, WI, he was the son of the late Glen and Margaret (Tolbenheim) Gill. For 33 years, Smiley was a self-employed painter operating Richard Gill Painting Co. formerly Smiley's Painting Service.Besides his wife, he leaves his children Richard Gill and his wife Michelle of Louisiana, Christine Gill of Tiverton, Victoria Kenna of Warren as well as his step-daughter Lauri Smart of Newport. He was the brother of Gary Gill and Karen Jeske both of Wisconsin, and several grandchildren and great grand-children.He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister David Gill, Vernon Gill, Michael Gill and Shirley Schlegel. Smiley was the step-father of the late Scott Brady and Jeraldine Brady.Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Graceway Community Church, 215 Forest Avenue, Middletown.
