Richard Lee Hackett

Middletown, RI - Richard Lee Hackett, 56, of 1839 West Main Road Middletown, died unexpectedly, Friday, February 25, 2005 at Kent County Memorial Hospital Warwick, RI.He was the husband of Elizabeth Miner Hackett. Born in Newport, VT on June 27, 1948, he was the son of William Lee and Mary Jane Letourneau Hackett of Newport, VT. Mr. Hackett was in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Electric Boat in Quonset Point for four years. Prior to working at Quonset Point he worked at Valen Valve in Vermont for many years. Mr. Hackett enjoyed NASCAR racing and wood working. Besides his wife and parents he is survived by two sons William Hackett and Craig Hackett both of Bennington, VT, his step daughter Jerri Kim Evans of Middletown, RI, his brother David Hackett of Pennsylvania, two sisters Linda Gibson of Isle Lamotte, VT, and Mary Anne Cratton of Burlington, VT, grandson Christopher Potts Jr. of Middletown, RI, granddaughter Harley Evans, Emily Evans and Isabella Evans Middletown, RI, and grandson Jackson Potts Tiverton, RI.He was the step father of the late Christopher Potts.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 12:00 PM in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
