Portsmouth, RI - Richard P. Wolz, 67, of 25 Cheryl Avenue Portsmouth, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Rhode Island Hospital Providence, RI.He was the husband of Louise Jakubowski Wolz. Born in Queens, NY on July 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Peter and Louise Bell Wolz. Mr. Wolz was in the Navy for 28 years as a gunner on serveral ships based out of Newport, RI. After his retirement from the Navy he went to work for the Department of Defense Police Department in Newport in 1982. He later worked for the Supply Depot also on the Newport Naval Base, finally retiring in 1999. He belonged to the Newport Rifle Club and loved fishing and hunting. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Christopher Wolz of Middletown, RI, three daughters Cynthia Wolz-Miner of Newport, RI, Sharon Tisdale of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Debra Correia of Portsmouth, RI, his brother Robert Wolz of Deland, FL, six grandchildren Frank James Martin of Concord, NH, Jessica Martin of Dover, NH, Jason Williams, USN, Japan, Brittany Correia and Teddy Correia both of Portsmouth, RI, and Nicholas Tisdale of Lake Elsinore, CA, and four great grandchildren Mark Martin, Sarah Martin, Shelby Martin and Morgan Martin all of Concord, NH.He was the father of the late Mark Wolz and Rick Wolz. Funeral services and burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Rhode Island Hospital Foundation, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903 or to the American Cancer Society, 222 Richmond Street, Providence, RI 02903-4253. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
