Rita T. Mosher

Newport, RI - Rita T. Mosher, 86, of Newport, RI, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Heatherwood Nursing Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Earl Mosher. Born in Waterville, MA on August 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Townsend) Hill.Rita grew up in Newport and spent nearly her entire life a Newporter. A true "People Person", she enjoyed the company of coworkers at several Newport institutions, including nearly 15 years at the former Treadway Hotel. In her spare time she enjoyed drawing and chatting up anyone who she met. She is survived by her daughters Georgetta Mosher, Susan Hill, and Rebecca Paul all of Newport, RI, and a son Richard Mosher and his wife Kathy also of Newport, RI, as well as 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Rita was the mother of the late Earl Mosher Jr.Ritas family wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Heatherwood for their dedicated care of her for over two years.Calling hours will be held Monday, May 21 from 5:00-9:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at 10:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home.
