Robert Carnley Thompson

Middletown, RI - Robert Carnley Thompson, 88, of Middletown died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ann Katherine Binz. Born on August 6, 1924, in Bradley Beach, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Christine (Jenner) Thompson. Mr. Thompson served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated his own printing company. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Newport Elks, Newport Rifle Club, the Newport County Radio Club and St. Mary's Episcopal Church.He is survived by his children, Robert C. Thompson IV of Ocala, FL, Kerry Thompson of Putnam Valley, NY, Ann K. Drew of Davenport, FL and Jill C. Starkman of Coral Springs, FL, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013, at 11:00AM, in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will be private.
