Middletown, RI - Robert L. Reismann, 60, of 72 Bay View Park, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Eleanor ?Ellie? Corey Reismann. Born in Rhinelander, WI on June 24, 1947, he was the son of the late George and Annamae McFee. Mr. Reismann served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a medic. He grew up in Wisconsin and worked for American Paper Products. Robert moved to Newport and graduated from Salve Regina University in 1983, receiving his bachelor?s degree in Sociology and Psychology and was awarded the Religious Studies Award twice. He then began work at Davis Park VA Hospital in Providence as a Rehabilitation Technician and retired with more than 20 years of service. Bob?s greatest joy was his grandchildren and was affectionately called ?Oppie?. Bob loved the ocean because it brought him to a place of peace and often spent time around the Ocean Drive. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tammi McCarraher and her husband John of Dartmouth, MA and Danielle Lister of Portsmouth, RI, his brothers James Harper and his wife Pat, Bruce McFee, and his sister Terry Miller and her husband Howard, all of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and his three beautiful grandchildren, Amanda Lister, and Lauren and Brandon McCarraher. His funeral will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial with Military Honors will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 2, 2007, from 4-8 in the Memorial Funeral Home. Bob loved his two cats Mooky and Bubbles who both came from the Potter League. In honor of his love for cats donations may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
