Robert P. Bob Kuttner, 75, of Silva Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.He was the husband of Florence E. Perry Kuttner.Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late John and Grace Lillian Shanley Kuttner, he lived in Portsmouth, RI most of his life.He was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a boat builder for the US Government at Newport Naval Base. He designed and built the marina across from Gate 1 where he was employed for eight years. Mr. Kuttner was also a firefighter at HETC Fire Department on the naval base until retiring in 1980. After retirement, he worked as an engineer for Sheraton Islander and Treadway Hotels in Newport, RI. He was a member of the Newport Elks #104, the Portsmouth Senior Center, AARP and NARFE.He leaves his wife, Florence E. Kuttner, daughter, Cheryl Larsen of Vineyard Haven, MA, two sons, Michael Kuttner of Westport, MA and Stephen Kuttner of Portsmouth, RI, and a step-daughter, Lisa Moore of Portsmouth, RI. He also leaves five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Tanya, Erik and Nathan Larsen, Taylor Kuttner, Alexus Kuttner, and Ryan and Amanda Moore; his sisters, Joan Paradis, Louise Giguere, Sue Feuerbach, brothers, John Kuttner, James Kuttner and the late Daniel Kuttner.A Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010, at 10:00AM in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Portsmouth Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Fund, PO Box 806, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
