Robert S. Lyons

Robert S. Lyons of Franklin, MA, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Springfield, MA he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Barrett Lyons. Mr. Lyons was raised in Springfield, MA. He went on to raise his family in Livingston, NJ and retired to Franklin, MA. He was a graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst having played football, basketball and baseball. Mr. Lyons served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater attaining the rank of Major. He then worked as a salesman for Package Machinery for thirty five years. He is survived by his three children Susan Paglia and her husband James of Middletown, Robert S. Lyons, Jr., and his wife Maura of West Townsend, MA and Christopher B.
