Robert Stevens Offersen

Middletown, RI - Robert Stevens Offersen, peacefully passed away after a prolonged illness on November 20, 2009.He was the husband of Doris Lang Offersen for the past 64 years. Born in Chicago, IL on August 14, 1921, he was the son of the late Archibald J. and Violet Stevens Offersen.Robert served in the United States Navy and was a Pearl Harbor survivor, WWII and Korean War Veteran, and a Retired Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the Naval Mine Warfare Association, the Fleet Reserve, the Middletown Senior Center and a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Mr. Offersen was a 55 year resident of Middletown, RI. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Charles Lang Offersen of Phoenixville, PA, Robert Lang Offersen of Summerville, SC, and John Lang Offersen of Las Vegas, NM, his grandson David Offersen and his great grandson Dylan Offersen.He was the brother of the late Margaret Zerfas.
