Robert T. Shaw, Jr

Middletown, RI - Robert T. Shaw, Jr., 54, of 196 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2009 at home in Middletown, RI.Born in Newport, RI on August 17, 1954, he is the son of Wilhelmina Robinson Shaw of Middletown and the late Robert T. Shaw.Robert graduated from Middletown High School and then from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. He worked for many years in Washington, DC as a writer for area newspapers. Robert had a passion for history; he enjoyed reading about history and architecture and also enjoyed traveling to visit various historical landmarks throughout New England. He is survived by his mother Wilhelmina Shaw of Middletown, RI, and three sisters, Sandra Finerty of Damascus, MD, Roberta Conti of Portsmouth, RI, and Martha Chrisp of Longview, TX, as well as several nieces and nephews.His funeral will be private.
