As a passionate teacher of reading skills, Bob took on several multi-grade classes of poor readers and had them performing at high school levels when they left his class. He coached the track and crosscountry teams to numerous league and state titles; he revived AAU swimming in Lowville, was the Jr. High swim coach for many years and was the de facto diving coach for almost 2 decades, earning him the moniker Doc, after another famous swimming and diving coach. He was also a revered swim official in NY State high school swimming and in the Northeast at the collegiate level, officiating in numerous state and national championship events. Most of all, Robert Doc Edick loved working with kids and contributed to the Lowville community in so many ways as to not be able to truly gauge the impact he had on the many lives he touched. For health reasons, in 2009 Bob and Clorinda moved to Middletown, Rhode Island to be closer to family support and he lived there until his recent passing.
