Robert W. Mcbrier

PORTSMOUTH, RI - Robert W. McBrier, 60, of 15 Hammel Court, Portsmouth, RI, died peacefully at home with his family on Thursday, July 28, 2005. He was the husband of Marlene Thome McBrier. Born in Newport, RI on February 3, 1945, he was the son of Rheta McCann McBrier of Portsmouth, RI and the late Col. Robert W. McBrier. Bob retired after 38 years as Vice President of Field Operations for Bristol-Myers Squibb Medical Imaging. His career brought him toLawrenceville, NJ for 15 years until he returned to Aquidneck Island in 2002. Robert was a member of the Lions Club, past president of Newport County YMCA Board of Directors, a member of Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, NJ and Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club, in Middletown, RI. Besides his wife of 39 years and his mother, he is survived by his children Robert A. McBrier and his wife Diane Flanagan McBrier of North Kingstown, RI, and Dr. Stephanie Hannett and her husband Jeffery Hannett of Tampa, FL, his sister Connie McBrier of Bristol, RI, and his grandchildren Morgan McBrier, Jake McBrier and Colin McBrier all of North Kingstown, RI, and Sarah Hannett and Ryan Hannett both of Tampa, FL. Bob was a nurturing father, a loving husband and a dear friend to many. His funeral will be held on Monday, August 1, 2005, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial for St. Joseph?s Church at 9:00am held in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2005, from 4-8pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
