Robert William Cruz

Robert William Cruz, 50, of Smithfield, RI, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2016 in his home.Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late John and Calleen (Baker) Cruz.Robert was a person who always turned peoples frowns into smiles, caring, always spoke his mind and loved his dog Hera dearly.He leaves his brother Jackie Cruz and sister-in-law Lilly Cruz, three sisters, Dawn Cochran, brother-in-law Tony Cochran, Karen Livingston, brother-in-law Paul Livingston, Ann Curtis, brother-in-law David Curtis in Eagle, CO. He also leaves behind his two daughters, Christine Cruz and Michelle Cocklin and his son Bradley Cruz and son-in-law John Friend, a granddaughter Sarah Cruz as well as nieces and nephews, Julia and Brooke Livingston, Kevin Cruz, Cody Cruz, Kamie Cruz, Kailee Cruz, Jacob Curtis, Sarah Colman and Michaela Curtis.Services will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
