Roger Arthur Fortin

Portsmouth, - Roger Arthur Fortin, 78, of 51 Middle Road Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 19, 2003 at Forest Farm.. He was the husband of Madeline D. Furlong Fortin. Born in Pawtucket, RI on March 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Aldemar and Cecile Fortin. Mr. Fortin was a highly skilled toolmaker. He was employed by Peerless Precision Products in Pawtucket for over 25 years. He continued to work after his retirement in Fort Lauderdale. He also was an avid carpenter. He built his own home in Rehoboth, and retired in Florida before returning to Rhode Island. He was a communicate of St. Barnabas Church. He was also World War II ArmyVeteran. He is survived by his wife Madeline D. Furlong Fortin of Portsmouth, RI, and his daughter Eileen Cermak and his son in-law Vince Cermak and their son Michael Cermak all of Middletown.His funeral will be held Monday June 23, at 9:00am from Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
