Roger Lorn Allen Middletown, RI - Roger Lorn ?Lorne? Allen, 62, of 140 Green Lane, Middletown, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, at home surrounded by his family.He was the husband of Carolyn G. Pile Allen. Born in Pennington Gap, VA on July 22, 1942, he was the son of Flora Holman Allen of Dryden, VA and the late Ray C. Allen. Mr. Allen owned and operated Roger?s Taxi and operated ABR Transport for 4 years. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He also worked for the Newport Daily News and Electric Boat for a number of years. Besides his wife of 26 years, he is survived by two daughters Ashley Allen of Middletown, RI, and Melissa Allen Simmons of Portsmouth, RI, four sons Oliver Allen of Middletown, RI, Zachary Allen of Middletown, RI, Lorn Scott Allen of Newport, RI, and Christian Allen of Middletown, RI, three brothers Paul Allen of Dryden, VA, Danny Allen of Jonesville, VA and Larry Allen of Dryden, VA, a grandson Michael Simmons of Portsmouth, RI, a granddaughter Gabrielle Simmons of Portsmouth, RI, many nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. He was also the brother of the late David Allen.His memorial service will be held Sunday, August 8, 2004, at 3:30 PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.A memorial service will also be held on Thursday, August 12, 2004, at 6:00PM in the Sturgill Funeral Home, Pennington, VA.Memorial donations may be made in his memory to American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY, 10014.
