Middletown, RI - Ronald Avery Pearl, 78, of 22 Gossets Turn Drive, Middletown, RI, died on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at home surrounded by his family.He was the husband of Alice E. Gauntlett Pearl.Born in Manchester, CT on April 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Burton D. and Mae Jones Pearl.Mr. Pearl served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Radioman. He was a Mason for 52 years, belonging to several lodges, including lodges in Manchester, CT, Old Saybrook, CT, and Middletown, RI. He was a life long sailor, and was the former proprietor of Atlantic Marketing Co., a marine manufacturers and representatives company. He most recently was working for Brewer Street BoatWorks in Newport, RI, and also ran a mail order business called Mascots Unlimited, which specialized in custom bronze hood ornaments. He truly had a zest for life, and showed it everyday as loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother.Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Jared Pearl and his wife Theresa of Niantic, CT, Marlene Gnatek and her husband Michal of Landsdowne, VA, , Karen Megley and her husband Brian of Middletown, RI, Richard and David Gauntlett of Barrington, his brother Stephen Pearl and his wife Deborah of Essex, CT and his grandchildren, Gavin, Grace and Paige Megley all of Middletown, RI, Hannah Pearl, and Daniel Pierce both of Phoenix, AZ and Parker and Connor Gnatek of Landsdowne, VA.
